Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy at DCCD Global
Building Everyday Skills for Confident, Independent Living
At DCCD Global, we believe that every child deserves the chance to play, learn, and live as independently as possible. Our Occupational Therapy (OT) program is designed to support children in developing the foundational skills they need for daily life — from self-care and handwriting to attention, sensory regulation, and play.
Through evidence-based, child-centric interventions, our occupational therapists empower children to build confidence, master new challenges, and enjoy the process of growth.
Who We Support
Our OT services cater to infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents (0–18 years) who may experience challenges in one or more of the following areas:
Sensory Processing & Regulation — hypersensitivity or under-responsiveness to touch, sound, or movement
Fine Motor Skills — difficulty with grasping, writing, buttoning, or using utensils
Gross Motor Skills — challenges in balance, coordination, or core strength
Self-Care / Activities of Daily Living (ADL) — dressing, eating, toileting, grooming
Attention, Focus & Executive Functioning — difficulties in organization, planning, or completing tasks
Visual-Motor Integration — poor hand-eye coordination affecting reading and writing
Play & Social Participation — difficulty joining group activities or managing frustration during play
If your child struggles to keep up with peers in everyday routines or becomes overwhelmed easily, our team can help uncover why — and design interventions that truly work.
Our Approach: How We Work
Comprehensive Assessment
We begin by understanding your child’s unique strengths, sensory profile, and areas of difficulty. Our assessments include standardized tools, sensory observations, and parent consultations to identify the root causes behind behaviors or skill gaps.Personalized Goal Setting
We create a collaborative therapy plan with specific, measurable, and meaningful goals — aligned with what truly matters to your child and family (like tying shoelaces, writing neatly, or sitting through circle time).Therapy Sessions
Sessions are active, fun, and functional. We use play-based methods and structured tasks to help children develop motor control, sensory balance, and independence. Therapy may involve swings, obstacle courses, crafts, sensory bins, and functional activities.Parent Coaching & Home Programs
We believe therapy should extend beyond the clinic. Caregivers receive hands-on training and customized home plans to continue practice at home, ensuring faster progress and consistency.Review & Progress Monitoring
Progress is tracked through regular reviews and feedback sessions. Our therapists adapt activities and goals as your child grows and gains new skills.

What Progress Looks Like
With consistent therapy, you may notice your child:
Shows improved focus and regulation during tasks
Develops better balance, coordination, and body awareness
Uses both hands together more efficiently (bilateral coordination)
Manages dressing, feeding, and grooming independently
Enjoys school and play activities with more confidence
Writes neatly and sits with better posture
Responds more calmly to sensory input (sound, textures, movement)
These everyday victories — tying shoelaces, buttoning a shirt, or finishing homework with less frustration — are the true milestones we celebrate at DCCD Global.
FAQs
Q: When should a child start occupational therapy?
If your child struggles with daily routines, shows poor attention, avoids touch or textures, or seems “clumsy” compared to peers, an early assessment can make a huge difference.
Q: How is sensory integration therapy different from regular OT?
Sensory integration therapy focuses on helping the brain process and respond to sensory information effectively. It forms the foundation for attention, behavior, and learning.
Q: How often should therapy be done?
Most children attend 2–3 sessions a week, depending on their needs and goals. Consistency and home carryover greatly impact progress.
Q: Will my child enjoy therapy?
Absolutely! Children often look forward to sessions because they’re filled with fun activities — climbing, swinging, painting, obstacle courses — all while developing important life skills.
